- Must be age 45 and above
- Minimum of 3 years experience in similar role
- A born-again Christian with a proven knowledge of the word of God
- Ability to read and write in English language
- Ability to establish close relationship within a short period
- Great listening and communication skills
- Ability to proactively take decision and execute plans without much supervision.

Zamirah Beulah Foundation is to rehabilitate approximately 20 ladies aged 16 -30 years all of whom are full residents of the ZBF HOME. They will live in 3flats which will accommodate 6 ladies each. The Matron has a special role in helping create a happy and well-disciplined atmosphere in the Home. The following is a description of the role, responsibilities and functions of the Matron.
PASTORAL CARE AND RELATIONSHIPS
The Matron is responsible for the pastoral care, health , welfare and health education of the ladies in the Home, the Matron reports directly to the Administrative Officer/Case Manager on all matters relating to the welfare of the ladies, she ensures that the right care is given to the ladies and monitors their well-being at all times . This is done by facilitating and contributing to the various routines of the Home which seeks to promote the confidence of the ladies within a happy atmosphere. These routines encourage high standards of dressing, cleanliness and respectful relationship among other ladies.
The Matron should be an approachable, kind and friendly person who is available to all ladies without discrimination or favoritism. It is the nature of the role that ladies may confide in them from time to time. This will require a caring attitude in line with understanding of the principles of confidentiality and information sharing, so that matters can be dealt with as they arise while the welfare and happiness of the ladies in the Matrons care is ensured. Matrons must play a crucial part in ensuring continuous adult supervision of the Ladies.
SAFEGUARDING, LADIES PROTECTION, HEALTH CARE, MEDICATION, FIRST AID AND RECORD KEEPING
The Matron must be thoroughly familiar with the Foundations policies on the ladies protection, safeguarding and professional guidelines. The Matron cares for the ladies who are unwell or have medical problems and is in contact with The Foundations Insurance Hospital in critical cases. The Matron may administer first aid and should be in possession of a first aid qualification. The Matron maintains a written record of all significant medication, treatment and first aid administered to the ladies in the Home.
DRESS & HYGIENE, HOUSE KEEPING AND DOMESTICS DUTIES
The Matron is to ensure consistent high standard of dressing among the ladies, she is to supervise the personal hygiene and appearance of the ladies as well as the tidiness and cleanliness of their rooms and facilities.

- Medical Record keeping (a template should be provided)
- Distribution of House Orders to the ladies (pads, soaps, creams etc.) as required
- Attend meetings with Administrative Staff
- Monitor Cleaning Orders
- Conduct daily devotions with the ladies
- Cooking and distribution of food appropriately among the ladies.
